MRtrix software package was developed at the Florey Austin for the processing of diffusion MRI, is widely used internationally and currently has over 8200 downloads. MRtrix forms the basis for a Siemens Work In Progress Package that is expected to be released shortly.

MRtrix includes a range of novel advanced methods such as Constrained spherical deconvolution (CSD), Anatomically Constrained Tracking (ACT), Spherical deconvolution Informed Tracking (SIFT), Apparent Fibre Density (AFD), and super-resolution Track Density Imaging (TDI), all of which has been developed at the Florey Austin VBIC node.

MRtrix forms the basis for a Siemens Work In Progress Package (i.e. a precursor to an expected Siemens software application package) that is currently under development and is expected to be released in the near future. This is aimed at enabling super-resolution TDI, and incorporates CSD based probabilistic fibre tracking.
