The Victorian Biomedical Imaging Capability (VBIC) provides a coordinated network of capabilities and research capacity in biomedical imaging to support universities and medical research institutes for:
- Cancer imaging - Monash University, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (PMCC), Prince Henry's Institute, Southern Health, CRC for Biomedical Imaging Development (CRC-BID)
- Large animal imaging - University of Melbourne
- Cognitive and clinical neurosciences research - Florey Neuroscience Institutes (FNI), Mental Health Research Institute (MHRI), University of Melbourne, CSIRO, Alfred Health, Southern Health, Swinburne and Monash Universities
- Maintenance of existing research capabilities in small animal MR - FNI, Parkville - and large animal CT - University of Melbourne
VBIC brings together all key Victorian players in biomedical imaging and enables increased collaboration and sharing of capabilities and infrastructure to benefit translational research and global competitiveness in priority health areas.
